Welcome to the Chalk Hare
The Chalk Hare is a beautiful Grade II listed Georgian building in the heart of Royston.
It boasts a beautiful garden room, terraced area with lawns and a Private Dining room seating 12 to 14 people. There’s an inviting bar, stocked with a range of 12 or so craft beers and lagers on tap, alongside 5 cask ales, a wine list paired to complement the food menu and a cocktail list calling on some of the 200 plus spirits that adorn the back bar. The bar area is welcoming to dogs and their owners, whilst other areas have a more restaurant feel, with plenty of places to either soak up the atmosphere or have a quiet moment.
Our 9 bedrooms are individually styled to reflect the building’s historic character while providing thoughtful contemporary comforts for a truly relaxing stay. We can’t wait to welcome guests.
You can follow the pubs day-to-day life on Facebook or Instagram @chalkhareroyston, and subscribe to our mailing list and we'll let you know when anything new or interesting is coming up at the pub.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Acorn Pubs
Acorn pubs are a collection of 10 pubs, 6 of which offer bedrooms, which sit primarily in the home counties. We could be described as ‘modern pubs’, with an extensive range of draft beers, wines and cocktails with a great menu of freshly cooked Mediterranean-inspired food, which centres around our wood-fired ovens and charcoal grills, using traditional cooking techniques and sustainably sourced produce.
Our buildings range from modern to historic, all rejuvenated into contemporary spaces that fit the needs of the communities they serve.
Whether our customers are catching up with friends over drinks, treating the family to Sunday roast in our restaurant, or escaping for a couple of nights to one of our hotels, we pride ourselves on offering the perfect, quality environment to suit, and warm, friendly hospitality.
AllTrails have kindly created a circular walk from the pub to help you work up that thirst/appetite. You can view the walk details via any of the routes below. (varying levels of tech savviness required -Ed)
